The Eliopoulos lab receives a grant by the Fondation Santé.

A research proposal by the Eliopoulos team entitled “Epigenetic regulation of damage-induced intestinal stem cell proliferation in Drosophila” was selected for funding by the Fondation Santé.

Konstantina Georgila receives a M. Manassaki Bequest Fellowship

Konstantina Georgila, a PhD student in the Eliopoulos’ lab, receives a "M. Manassaki Bequest Fellowship" for Basic Doctoral Research.

Eliopoulos team received a competitive JS Latsis Public Benefit Foundation grant

A research proposal by the Eliopoulos team entitled “Epigenetic regulation of intestinal stem cells in Drosophila melanogaster” was selected for funding by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation.

Τhe Eliopoulos lab uncovers a novel function of TPL2 kinase as negative regulator of lung carcinogenesis.

Publication: The Eliopoulos lab in collaboration with the Liloglou team at the University of Liverpool uncovered a novel function of TPL2 kinase as suppressor of lung carcinogenesis.

Fellowship of Excellence in post-doctoral studies

Zoe Veneti, a post-doctoral researcher in Eliopoulos' lab receives a highly competitive Siemens - IKY (State Scholarships Foundation) Fellowship of Excellence in post-doctoral studies.

Professor Aristides Eliopoulos coordinates a major European Commission FP7 capacities program aiming to enhance the University of Crete Medical School research potential in the fields of "Genomics" and "Regenerative Medicine".

Dimitra Virla receives a ‘Herakletos Fellowship’ for Basic Doctoral Research

Dimitra Virla, a PhD student in the Eliopoulos’ lab has been awarded a grant from the Greek Ministry of Education under the ‘Herakletos Basic Doctoral Research Fellowship’ call.

Dimitris Kanellis receives a UNISTEP-PLUS grant

Dimitris Kanellis, a graduate student in the Eliopoulos’ lab has been awarded a grant from the Greek General Secretariat of Research & Technology, under the UNISTEP-PLUS call for junior researchers, to pursue work on miRNA circuits in inflammation and cancer.

Announcements: Seminars

Three renowned scientists, Frank Uhlmann (Cancer Research UK London Research Institute), Madalena Tarsounas (Oxford University) and Dimitris Iliopoulos (Harvard University) will be visiting University of Crete to teach for the Molecular Medicine Graduate Program of the Medical School.

Frank, Madalena and Dimitris will also give seminars to be held at IMBB about their research.

Νέα: Δελτίο Τύπου

To Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης συντονίζει νέο Ευρωπαϊκό πρόγραμμα για
την καταπολέμηση του καρκίνου.

Ένα νέο ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα που χρηματοδοτείται με 1,9 εκατ. ευρώ
από το 6ο Πρόγραμμα Πλαίσιο Έρευνας και Τεχνολογικής Ανάπτυξης της
Ευρωπαϊκής Ενωσης έρχεται να αναπτερώσει τις ελπίδες για την
δημιουργία νέας αποτελεσματικής θεραπείας κατά του καρκίνου. Στο
πρόγραμμα αυτό, συμμετέχουν συνολικά 7 ερευνητικά ιδρύματα και
εταιρείες βιοτεχνολογίας από την Ελλάδα, Βρετανία, Γερμανία, Ιταλία,
Σουηδία, Τσεχία και Φιλανδία, με συντονιστή το εργαστήριο Μοριακής και
Κυτταρικής Βιολογίας του αναπληρωτή καθηγητή Αριστείδη Ηλιόπουλου
στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης.
